This painting is a window into a place I know so well: my grandparents' backyard in the Nebraska Sandhills. As a child, I spent countless hours gazing at this tranquil view. Walking towards the water's edge, a quiet calm would give way to the gentle symphony of nature. The sweet songs of birds sweeping between feeders and trees, the soft hum of insects, and the gentle whisper of the wind through the tall grass all came into focus with every step. At the river's edge, a well-loved dock and welcoming bench offer an invitation to slow down, breathe, and simply be. This original painting was created on high-quality pastel paper and oil pastels.

Care: The best way to care for your painting is to have it in a frame with a small spacer between the painting and the glass. With it being an oil painting, it can smudge if placed directly on the glass as oil painting never truly and fully dry. Your painting will also be happiest out of direct sunlight!
